Mr. Guo Wei
Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Guo Wei is the board chairman and CEO at DC Holdings. Prior to this appointment, he had served as Vice Chairman, President and the Chief Executive Officer of the company beginning in February 2001. In December 2007, he was appointed board chairman as well as director of several subsidiary companies associated with DC Holdings. Guo Wei obtained a master's degree in management from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Science (formerly the Graduate School of the University of Science and Technology of China) in 1988. He joined the Lenovo Group in 1988, serving as both an executive director and senior vice president of the group.
In 2000, the DC Holdings team was formed under the leadership of Guo Wei to embark on a new venture. DC Holdings subsequently emerged as "China's First Brand in IT Services." Directed by Guo Wei, DC Holdings set out to fulfill the mission of "Digitalized China." After years of work in both project execution as well as conceptual innovation, DC Holdings is now a provider of integrated IT services which are made possible thanks to its access to a diverse range of international resources. In 2010, Guo Wei took yet another step, introducing DC Holdings' "Smart City" strategy. Created in response to the call for the integration of urbanization, information and industrialization by the "12th Five Year Plan," his strategy focuses on providing "integrated services." DC Holdings' "Smart City" will promote the development of a new model of urbanization in China, serving as a key factor in the next 5 to 10 years as DC Holdings work towards the vision of a "Digitalized China."
Guo Wei has over 28 years of experience in strategy development and business management. He was named one of the "50 Most Powerful Business Elites in China" by Fortune China from 2011 to 2013. Other important accolades include being named one of China's Top Ten Outstanding Youths in Science and Technology Innovation (1998), one of China's Top Ten Outstanding Youths (2002), a "Practical and Outstanding Youth of Achievement" by China Association for Science and Technology (2002) and a Future Economic Leader of China (2003). He also won the First Annual "China Young Entrepreneurs Creative Management Golden Honor" (2005) and the "20th Anniversary of Zhongguancun Technology Park – Outstanding Contributions Award" (2008), along with being named one of the "Top Ten Meritorious Persons of China's Software Industry" (2011).
Guo Wei holds numerous public offices, including his status as a standing committee member of the 11th and 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a member of the Fourth Advisory Committee for State Informatization, chairman of Z-Park Strategic Alliance of Smart City Industrial Technology Innovation, and vice chairman of the Committee of Oncology, Chinese Health Information and Big Data Association.
